Permissions - Civil Survey Applications products

There are some user permission requirements for installation and licensing of CSA products (namely Civil Site Design and Stringer Topo).

 

Installation Requirements

During installation of Civil Survey Applications products, users must have sufficient administrator permissions to create files in C:\Program Files and C:\ProgramData directories as well as edit the registry.

 

Operation Requirements (per user/workstation)

Following installation, the following folders require full read/write access in order for the software to run and obtain licenses:

  • Windows 8, 10 or 11:
    • C:\Program Files\CSS and all sub-directories
    • C:\ProgramData\CSA and all sub-directories
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\CSS\CSA Offline Activation (only needed if doing offline installation of licenses) and all sub-directories
    • C:\ProgramData\CSS and all sub-directories
    • For Installations of Autodesk applications
      • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins and all sub-directories
      • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins and all sub-directories
  • If running network a license
    • The shared location where the network xml file (e.g. csdFloating.xml ) is located 

Operation Requirements for installing the network license manager

Following installation, the following folders require full read/write access in order for the software to run and obtain licenses as well as an Internet Connection:

 

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\CSS\CSA Network Manager and all sub-directories
