When using Data Storage, there is a DATA folder in the same location as the drawing but it gets deleted when I open the drawing.
Data Storage extracts the data in the drawing and extracts it to the location specified as Current Data Folder on the Project Storage panel. If there is a data folder in the same location as the drawing, this data folder will be deleted as it is not considered the latest information.
** NOTE - if there is a DATA folder located in the same location as the DWG this data folder and contents will be deleted. If this data is to be used, rename the DATA folder temporarily.
To stop the removal of the DATA folder and use the local version:
Go to the Data Manage tab on the ribbon > Project Data Management panel and click on Project Storage
Click Toggle OFF on the presented window, then Click OK to close the window
Return to the Data Manage tab on the ribbon > Data Path panel and expand the Show Data Path entry and click on RESET DATA PATH
This will then set the path to the same location as the DWG file.
RESETTING the data path will move the data folder to the same location as the DWG.
If you renamed the existing data folder in the drawing location and you wish to use this, Please close your drawing, Delete the contents of the DATA folder and replace with the contents of the DATA folder renamed above (**)
