When working with survey data, you may be issued with data in US Survey Feet or International Feet coordinates. There is a small difference in these two measurements - when working with large coordinates, this can amount to a large shift in the data x,y coordinates.
In Civil Site Design, the default assumption is that the current drawing is working with International Foot units and that the output to LandXML is to "Foot" (international foot) units.
See below for two options to control the unit information in the LandXML output file, and to apply a unit conversion during export of a LandXML file.
If you haven't set Civil Site Design to operate with US Survey Units, when you export to LandXML and open the LandXML file output, you will see the linearUnit is set to International Foot:
You can change the value from foot to USSurveyFoot if needed, if your source data in the drawing is actually in US Survey Foot units.
If you need Civil Site Design to transform the coordinates, and you can force a coordinate transformation during export (multiply the coordinates to account for a transformation from US Survey Foot to international Foot or vice versa).
This is controlled from the Roads Tab > Settings Panel > Active Drawing Settings command:
If you make these changes, then an extra form pops up during the LandXML export:
This will allow a scale conversion to be applied during export of your LandXML file.
